About Steam

Vapour Steam

Vapour Steam is a very dry and safe form of steam. Because it has less than 4% moisture it will not scald unless within 15cm from where the steam exits. The ability to heat surfaces rapidly and thoroughly means the steam cleans and sanitises as well. Thermal disinfection will become a very common term over the next decade.

Bedbugs, eggs, fleas and bacteria all die rapidly due to the thermal shock of steam. These organisms cannot and do not become immune to this treatment as they do with most chemicals. The vapour steam cuts through grease like a knife through butter while forcing the surfaces to dry rapidly, whereas moisture would be left behind with conventional cleaning methods, promoting growth of organisms.

The Equipment

Due to high temperature, and the fact that 1 litre of water converts to over 1500 litres of steam, these machines offer extreme water savings. 3 litres of water per hour is the maximum usage.

The latest range of equipment has built in detergent injection, that allows us to use detergent when nescessary. The detergent used is a specifically designed foodsafe detergent, and only a small amount should be used for tough areas.

The vacuum system is another build in function, which can remove all dirt and detergent quickly. Floors immediately improve on appearance and the removal of the layers of detergents immediadly improve the slip efficiency.

Commerce Qld recently estimated the equipment to be 99.5% water efficient. Grants were available a short time ago to allow up to 50% rebate via SEQ water.

The list of industries useing this mobile equipment is endless.
